Our horseback riding trip between Monteverde and Arenal
allows you to travel between these great points of interest
in the most direct route that only horse or foot can
navigate! This is the fastest, most scenic and most
exciting way to go from Monteverde to the Arenal Volcano!
1st Day San Jose/Monteverde
Today
you will be picked up by our adventure specialists for
the 3 1/2 hour drive to Monteverde. Upon arrival, meet your
four-footed companion and enjoy the rest of the day
riding around the Monteverde area. Overnight at the
simple and rustic Arco Iris.
2nd Day Monteverde/Arenal
Early
rise and saddle up for the ride through the tropical
rainforest to the spectacular Arenal Volcano! Our ride
today will take us on the old trade route used by locals
for decades. Cross rivers, open pastures and incredible
mountain jungle trails as you climb over 1,000 meters
on this 3 hour horse ride. On our last leg, we will
dismount for a boat transfer across Lake Arenal (the
largest man-made lake in Costa Rica) to meet our ground
transportation to La Fortuna. After our trek we will
relax in the hot thermal waters of Tabacon Hot Mineral
Springs & Spa where we can admire the steaming volcano
towering above. More than five pools of hot thermal
waters ranging in farenheit from 80 to 102 degrees is
sure to soothe any aches acquired along the way. Overnight
at Hotel San Bosco in La Fortuna. Meals B
3rd Day Arenal/San Jose
Time
to relax in the natural hot springs that seem to flourish
everywhere. Then we take a 1 hour hike to the pristine
La Fortuna waterfall. Hike back to the village for our
return transfer to San Jose. Meals B
