At the Plaza of Independence, you’ll discover the remarkably restored Casa de los Tres Mundos. A short stroll will bring us to the historic Church of San Francisco-site of the pulpit from where the friar and historian Bartolomé de Las Casas preached. In the afternoon, meet our favorite local, Chico who has been providing visitors with nostalgic horse drawn carriage rides for over 25 years, a tradition dating back to 1524. Ride through the narrow streets of Granada’s natural colonial antiquity to the port and islets of Granada. Here a small motorboat ride on Lake Nicaragua will have you mazing through hundreds of small islands in the shadow of majestic Mombacho volcano, looming in the distance. Return to your hotel.
